The heavens tremble, thunder echoes, and there he is again, Xie Lian, wearing an apologetic smile. Eight centuries in the past, he was the revered martial god, the Crown Prince of Xianle. Now, for the third time, he ascends to the heavenly realm, but this time as a forlorn god who collects scraps, lacking any devoted followers.
On his initial mission, Xie Lian finds himself alone under the moonlight. In this moment, a kindly man clad in red leads him through the forest. However, as suddenly as he appeared, the man dissolves into a swarm of silver butterflies.
Xie Lian later discovers that this enigmatic figure was none other than Hua Cheng, known as the Crimson Rain Sought Flower, a Ghost King who instills fear in both demons and gods. Puzzled by why Hua Cheng, a formidable entity, would aid a Heavenly Official like himself, Xie Lian encounters San Lang. This young man possesses profound knowledge about not only the Ghost King but also the long-forgotten Crown Prince, prompting him to join Xie Lian on a journey to unravel the mysteries of their shared past.
