Middle school student Akira Todo lives a peaceful life in northern Okinawa with his older sister Haruka and their mother, who runs a café. But the family has a secret: Haruka inherited a mysterious power called “Engine” from their father and has been hiding it from others. Akira, who did not inherit the power, struggles with feelings of inferiority about his own weakness.
When a worldwide phenomenon called “Power Down” causes networks to malfunction, strange events begin unfolding. Then Haruka’s forehead suddenly begins to glow red—the same phenomenon that occurred to their father when EDVA once approached Earth.
As the mystery deepens, Akira and Haruka are drawn into a battle that could determine the fate of the universe.
